Medical Mutual Insurance Company of Maine, a Portland-based medical professional liability insurance company, is looking for a detail-oriented administrative professional to join the team as an Underwriting Technician. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, and after training, you will enjoy a hybrid schedule.
The Underwriting Technician provides administrative support within the department, generates renewal questionnaires, statements, and certificates of insurance, and delivers reliable, efficient, and expert service to the underwriting team and policyholders. This non-exempt position reports directly to the Vice President of Underwriting and interacts closely with underwriters, agents, and policyholders.
Job Requirements:
- An associate’s degree in business or computer technology and one year of experience in an office environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required.
- Strong attention to detail and able to prioritize workflow effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in time management and outstanding customer service skills.
- Understand Underwriting and insurance principles.
- Must be able to work independently and successfully as a team member.
- Must understand the need for and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Necessary Computer Skills
- Intermediate level of competency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Windows and the Internet
- Must demonstrate capability in MMIC technologies (as applicable to use in the Underwriting Department) within 90 days of employment.
