The surveys, which can usually be conducted within a few hours and without interruption to the practice itself, focus on key aspects of the practice's office systems, such as appointment management, telephone communications and various tracking functions. They also include a review of the physical layout of the office, the patient flow from arrival to departure, an environmental assessment and a review of medical documentation. A written report that details specific recommendations for modifying systems is provided after the survey.
