Online Physician Application Now Available
"The availability of an online application will be a welcome and convenient alternative for some physicians regardless of whether they are in a solo practice, group practice or a hospital employee."
— Cindy Allen,Vice President of Technology Services/CTO Medical Mutual
Medical Mutual has unveiled a new online
application for physicians in Maine, New
Hampshire or Vermont seeking to apply
to the Company for their medical professional
liability insurance coverage.
“In today’s world, more and more people,
doctors included, are finding that
online services help save them time and
provide tidier record-keeping,” said Cindy
Allen, Medical Mutual’s Vice President of
Technology Services/CTO. “To that end,
the availability of an online application
will be a welcome and convenient alternative
for some physicians regardless of
whether they are in a solo practice, group
practice or a hospital employee.”
Allen said the application collects the
same information as the paper application
and that Beta testing with agents and
insured practices has demonstrated that it
takes as few as 20 minutes to complete. She
added that individuals are able to begin the
process and save their information for subsequent
completion if they cannot finish
the application in a single session.
An Application Management page provides
an overview of the process and lists
all information that is necessary for successful
completion and submission.
Individuals applying for coverage in
Vermont must include the name of their
assigned independent agent within the
application. Agent assignments are optional
in Maine and New Hampshire.
The new online application was
launched June 1, 2007 and is available in
the “Insurance” section of Medical Mutual’s
web site.
